Bosön – The Development Centre of the Swedish Sports Confederation – has had a Vibrosphere® for a year and half. Britta Östman-Kockum, physiotherapist, says that the Vibrosphere® is a great complement for the rehabilitation training at Bosön.
“I think it will be of most use in the initial phase of the rehabilitation of foot/knee and hip injuries and shoulder injuries with remaining pain and poor function of muscles. Many people are able to do the exercises with less or no pain when doing them on the Vibrosphere®. We start with both legs and increase to strain on one leg, especially with knee- and inguinal injuries. We begin with static positions in different angles and increase gradually the frequency and time (3x30 sec, 2 sets up to 3x1min, 2 sets). Finally, the dynamic exercise phase begins which mostly can be executed without any pain or discomfort. Normally we use a frequency of 30-40 Hz. In individual cases we start with 25 Hz and some finally work with 45 Hz.
Many patients feel a increased coordination of the muscles and no or less pain.”
